Lab 1 Reflection
Well, after trying to settle down from a busy summer experience and once again reuniting with the whole Web Design class, we were given our very first lab no less than a week into the beginning of school. I guess you can say we were kind of excited to start learning about Javascript and JQuery again but we felt that it was too soon into the school year to begin. :( Regardless, Mrs. Ramirez went over so many things that we had forgotten throughout the course of the summer with tags, starting a document, setting up the document, how to save the file. etc. It was very useful since we were all lost.
So for Lab 1, we were given the assignment to create a simple and practical website for our homepage for this year (WCP2017-2018) based off of a wireframe. We created this wireframe in under 30 minutes that should include all the basic skills we have learned with CSS and HTML and spice it up by adding Javascript and JQuery. We jotted all that down on our physical copy of our wireframe; for example: where exactly CSS will be used, how is javascript going to influence the movement of the site, how will jquery change the positioning of the website itself, etc. After Mrs. Ramirez checked the wireframes to see if it met the requirements, we were given another period in order to CREATE that actual wireframe and bring it alive online. I have to admit it was pretty hard to make it all at once and I didn't accomplish what I wanted by the end of the period.
At the end, my website wasn't so great but it was only a sample anyways. I will try to pick up on my time management skills more.
