Lab 1 Reflection

Image
Well, after trying to settle down from a busy summer experience and once again reuniting with the whole Web Design class, we were given our very first lab no less than a week into the beginning of school. I guess you can say we were kind of excited to start learning about Javascript and JQuery again but we felt that it was too soon into the school year to begin. :( Regardless, Mrs. Ramirez went over so many things that we had forgotten throughout the course of the summer with tags, starting a document, setting up the document, how to save the file. etc. It was very useful since we were all lost.    So for Lab 1, we were given the assignment to create a simple and practical website for our homepage for this year (WCP2017-2018) based off of a wireframe. We created this wireframe in under 30 minutes that should include all the basic skills we have learned with CSS and HTML and spice it up by adding Javascript and JQuery. We jotted all that down on our physical copy ...

WBL Workshop Reflection 09/25/17

So today, we were told that our first WBL Workshop would be going on. We first went to the CCEC Center which is known as the library. But, many students were ranting on how hot it was up there and they wished to be in a room that had AC in it. So, after we all met up in the library, we went downstairs to Mrs. Ramirez's room and that is where the Workshop was held. Ms. Lopez was the coordinator and guidance counselor of some us seniors this year.    So today's WBL Workshop was called "The 3 W's" and the whole general idea of the meeting was to emphasize the importance of finishing all of your WBL Requirements this year, ESPECIALLY! Ms. Lopez gave us the "CTE Checklist" in which was listed all the specific papers and proof needed to graduate and show that you ACTUALLY know what you were doing during the past 3 years of being in a CTE Academy. We NEED to have the checklist done before graduation in order to receive the CTE endorsement on our diploma...

What Does a CTE Diploma Mean To Me?

Image
The Advanced Regents Diploma and a regular Regents Diploma are two completely different sort of diplomas students can graduate with. It is more rigorous to achieve an Advanced Regents Diploma and is recommended for students who plan to attend college after high school. It shows you did more than the minimum to graduate high school. These students take tougher courses like Advanced Placement classes or Honor classes, tend to enjoy learning and are usually more motivated. Many colleges and universities, especially in New York, give preference to students with an Advanced Regents Diploma. It shows you had a valuable high school education. In order to receive an Advanced Regents Diploma, you must pass these regents exams with a score of 65 or better: Comprehensive English, Mathematics (All three-Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry), Global History, US History, Science (One physical and one life science), and Language other than English. . If you currently taking a CTE class, th...

Blog Intro

So, here I am again "WORLD." My name is Lesli Cuamani. Too bad I don't have a middle name, that would've been cool :( ! The school I currently attend is Information Technology High School. I have been in this school for almost 4 years, so as you can see, I'm a 12th grader (senior year). Since there are 2 CTE Academies in this school, Video and Web Design, I am currently enrolled in the Web Design academy. I guess at first when I started off in this academy, I had no real idea as to why I specifically joined this course. But as these past 2 years filled with experience had passed by, I had learned to code a lot and create visual designs on Adobe Photoshop CS6. I am interested in this computer science field of study because of its complex and diverse structure. There is literally so much to learn and so many ways to get to a result. There are so many beautiful things I can code that can be later be used for future personal use as well as professional. I'll b...
