What Does a CTE Diploma Mean To Me?

   The Advanced Regents Diploma and a regular Regents Diploma are two completely different sort of diplomas students can graduate with. It is more rigorous to achieve an Advanced Regents Diploma and is recommended for students who plan to attend college after high school. It shows you did more than the minimum to graduate high school. These students take tougher courses like Advanced Placement classes or Honor classes, tend to enjoy learning and are usually more motivated. Many colleges and universities, especially in New York, give preference to students with an Advanced Regents Diploma. It shows you had a valuable high school education. In order to receive an Advanced Regents Diploma, you must pass these regents exams with a score of 65 or better: Comprehensive English, Mathematics (All three-Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry), Global History, US History, Science (One physical and one life science), and Language other than English. . If you currently taking a CTE class, then you would be saving yourself from taking foreign language class since it covers for that credit. Having an Advanced Regents Diploma can save you a lot of time and money in the future.

   A CTE Endorsement is an enhancement on a student’s high school diploma in the form of a New York State Education Department seal indicating that a student has completed coursework in a state approved CTE program along with the requirements for technical endorsement. Career and technical education gives you the chance to gain a deeper understanding of academic concepts. This sort of CTE endorsement in the field of Web Design is quite helpful since it is highly looked for from colleges or universities; it shows that you have a high understanding of the subject already and would be recognized for the achievement. Aside from education, this sort of CTE Endorsement would also be beneficial since employers look for people with more education in a fixed fields than others. As of modern society today, employers everywhere are looking for people in the CTE field's since there is always something related to it improvising. Having this endorsement when you graduate is really important since it displays you are a very intelligent being excelling in one specific field. For me, this CTE Endorsement of Web Design would show my approval in this field. Web Design is literally a field in which people use everyday in their lives if they haven't noticed. I'm able to create visually attractive websites and apps which catches the attention of many. Since not so many jobs are taken in the field of Web Design, us students will have a higher and better opportunity of pursuing this field; after college, if we choose to study in this field, we can easily have a technical-area related career and start earning money. The salary in this field is pretty big so it's definitely worth studying and trying in.
   Overall, having both an Advanced Regents Diploma and CTE Endorsement when one graduates can heavily, positively affect our life since we will have a higher chance of being a college's option and having a career that will grant us success financially.

 Lab 29 was the sixteenth video to the whole Javascript30 series and what I have to do for this one was to have text where it would have many different shades of colors to it when moving the mouse all over the page. So basically, I customized the website so that it would have the word "WOAH!" and many different colors that would go with the background gif I found on the internet. The background gif actually comes from a tv show I used to watch and its pig that blinks named Waddles. I really like how Waddles is right in the middle giving this simple website some color and vibrant vibes. The pink header fit in with my background perfectly and having the words be of various other colors, it was able to stand out from the almost dominant pink background.    Overall, this lab was fairly simple and easy to finish in my opinion. Dropbox Trip Reflection Journal 04/24

    So, while sophomores were taking PSATS and juniors were also taking SATS, a couple of us lucky Web seniors were able to go on an exciting trip to Dropbox. It was located near 23rd street on either the E or M train, which was very convenient for all of us. We had to be there at around 12:45pm, which was not possible and ended up getting there a little after 1. It affected us negatively as we were behind schedule, as well the Dropbox people said, so couldn't fully enjoy their working space and environment.     We got to the building and Dropbox was located on one of the floors. The other floors were also occupied by other companies such as SoundCloud, which I found to be very cool. Anyways, we take the elevator to go up to them and are greeted by this nice and warm lobby. Lab 17 Reflection

   Javascript30 is an intense coding program which is free and anybody can join. It is designed to be able to complete 30 days worth of several Javascript aspects and skills in the matter of 30 hours or so. We had to watch a video for each day, which in them the guy would explain step by step to have the various skills of Javascript to function properly on any HTML Page. Lab 17 was the fourth video to this whole series and basically all you had to do was check the console of the page. You can check my right clicking on the mouse or using two fingers on a mac and you'll see some sort of tabs pop-up. You would click on the one that says "Inspect" and you'll be able to thoroughly look through the code and the console itself. In the coding, I wrote a lot about people's first and last name and years; it was a lot of information and you won't see this on the page but the console, which stores data.
