WBL Workshop Reflection 10/23/17
The WBL Workshop on Monday, October 23, 2017, was a quick assembly on discovering oneself's career DNA. DNA, represents Dynamic Natural Abilities, which can be found out by using the Holland Interest Code. This was presented by Ms. Lopez in the CCEC. She first introduced two females that were a part of the Green Thumb NYC movement going on around us for teens. This program persuaded kids/teens to go out there and work on neighborhood gardens, keeping the city clean, and doing several other work. This would count as community service, if done so, for the WBL Requirements to fulfill. After they briefly explained, Ms. Lopez gave us all a packet filled with worksheets. They consisted of "Career Party & Game You Play," "People, Date, Things," "Interests: What are your top 3 Interests?," "RIASEC," and "Career Cluster Interest Survey." We had to fill them out and went over what each worksheet meant to us and for our future. At the end of the workshop, I feel like I didn't learn much from the workshop yet, summarized the same things from last year. Going year and year on this has set my mind on what I want to be, who I want to be, and who I am, skill wised.
