Lab 8 Reflection
Well, for Lab 8, after several weeks of learning various skills using Javascript and Jquery, Mrs. Ramirez has been challenging these skills itself by giving us troubleshooting labs. Our task for this lab was to fix a broken website so that every time you reload a text box including a quote, the quote would change to another that's already inside the code. When I say that the website is broken, I mean that the quote won't change every time you either refresh or reload the site. I used jQuery to fix the code and fixed the id of the broken code in order to use it for the new website with all of the troubleshooting in place. I added the link to my jQuery Library in order for my jQuery functions to work in my website. At the end, everything worked out fine and the quotes changed after each refresh.Overall, this lab was sort of difficult. I see why its hard in general to troubleshoot because you have to get used to figuring out several ways to get to a solution regardless of the situation. This troubleshooting practice gives us a preview of what we will have to constantly do as Web Designers working in the field. Learning and practicing these skills have better helped me to improve in my dedication and my mindset to think outside of the box as well as using all prior knowledge for a task at hand.
